The sixth child, Catherine (Kit or Cassie) Bird was born on April 11,
1886 at Woodchester Villa, and like her sisters was schooled at St. Margaret’s.
In 1919,
Catherine and her father traveled around the world, meeting Mary in Egypt
and accompanying her to England and the village of Woodchester,
England.
She cared for
the gardens which adorned the Woodchester property. A stroke affected her
speech though she remained mentally alert. Catherine was a founding member of the
Clef Club for over sixty years and was its president at one time.
She was considered to be persistent, demanded excellence and a ruler.
Catherine died on September 23, 1975.
