On June 4, 1873, Mr. and Mrs. Bird were married in Glen Allen, Ontario. Mrs.
Bird was a friend of Mr. Birdís first wife, Sarah Fraser who, along with their
three year old daughter, Elizabeth and six month old son, died of tuberculosis
Mrs. Bird preferred the quiet life of family and home. While Mr. Bird
favoured the octagonal style of housing, Mrs. Bird fancied more conventional
